Captain Chesley Burnett Sullenberger aka Captain Sully saved the airplane passengers through improvised water landing in the Hudson River in 2009. This heroic act made him an instant celebrity and he became even more famous when Clint Eastwood made a movie based on this dramatic event. Captain Sully’s net worth is approximately $1.5 million in 2017.

Chesley Sullenberger earned Bachelor of Science degree at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Later, he also received two Master’s degrees – in Industrial Psychology at the Purdue University and in Public Administration at the UNC. Same as many civil pilots, Captain Sully served in USAF at first.

Skilled pilots usually earn high salaries and don’t have much problem amass a sizable net worth. Sullenberger belongs to them but he became even richer after he saved his US Airways Flight 1549 hit by large flock of birds. He co-authored book titled Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters that doesn’t cover just the famous incident but his whole life.

Republican Party allegedly wanted this famous pilot to run for congress office but Captain Sully declined.
